⏀ Idea I’m mulling – There is a new religion of contrarianism as Sam Harris has termed it. It has been fueled by the rise of widespread distrust and mistrust of institutions (many of which have truly failed us) as well as elites including doctors. Now being anti-establishment is the new paradigm no matter how ridiculous that view is. And best believe there are actors to weaponize and weaponize this “pornography of doubt.” No where do we see this more than in medical misinformation. Listen to my podcast with author Dr Nina Shapiro on this topic. Being anti-establishment is the most effective viral marketing trend that exists, but it could bring down our democracy.
